Is it too early to say that roses are out and Proteas are in?
Don't get me wrong, roses are stunning! But it really does sadden me that they don't last very long (even when I try really hard to take care of them).
Perhaps in life, I am just suited to plants and other things like hermit crabs who can pretty much look after themselves. In saying that, I have killed a succulent after a friend gifted me one and explained that they are the EASIEST plants ever. Oops.
Say hello to my friend Proteas.. they are heavy duty and gorgeous flowers that I have actually scoured florists across Melbourne to find so I could have them in my home.
Janet Dunn from Houzz Australia says, 'Proteas are no shrinking violets when it comes to putting on a show – and not just in the garden. They are a great choice for dramatic flower arrangements and are even appearing in fabrics, wallpaper, rugs, screens and artwork.'
Which has inspired me to share with you my favourite artist at the moment who has some beautiful Proteas inspired pieces that you can incorporate into your home.
Introducing, Lisa Sorgini. She is an Australian photographer where her latest work is absolutely serene as she photographs flowers as they float on bubbling water. Simply put, her work makes me feel super relaxed like it's a Sunday in summer.
